Dragana Nikolic
Dr. Nikolic graduated in Biology from the University of Kragujevac, Serbia, where she has attended the Laboratory for Experimental Physiology at the Faculty of Science. Then, she moved to Belgrade, where she has worked as a Research Assistant in the Laboratory of Radiobiology and Molecular Genetics at the Vinca Institute, University of Belgrade, Serbia.
In 2011 Dr. Nikolic moved to Italy to perform her PhD thesis on the clinical significance of atherogenic lipoproteins. Therefore, she is currently attending the Biomedical Department of Internal Medicine and Medical Specialties, University of Palermo, Italy. Dr. Nikolic’s laboratory work is focused on the role of cardiometabolic risk markers in humans as well as in animal models, since her investigative interests include basic and clinical research in the field of diabetes, metabolism and cardiovascular diseases. She has published several papers in international journals with impact factor.
